"I googled South Padre Island.Looks like a nice place to holiday. I never knew that TX went as far as the coast. I thought it was just inland farming country. , like you see on western movies. Let me know how you go on the new boards. Aloha."

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Are you having a good sailing season? No more for us til April in Texas. Just snow skiing and indoor climbing.

Hi, I'm coming over to WA alone. But I haven't really planned anything yet. Geraldton sounds good. I'll definitely get a car in Perth and then I'll see.

Thanks a lot for the plenty of information. I haven't thought about shipping yet. I might consider that.
Where about's in WA are you from?

At the moment I'm in Brisbane doing an internship (I know it's not the place to be for windsurfing and this year seems to be even worse). But when I'm finished I want to fly to the West Coast in February and March. Do you have any tips regarding accomodation, cars and flights for me? I thought it would be easier to fly around Australia but a lot of Airlines don't allow windsurfing gear.

Hey Tanya, there are some lakes in Austria and the wind is good (not the perfect there-is-wind-everyday kind of good, but still okay ). One good spot is Podersdorf, in the east of Austria. I life in the west (Tirol), my homespot is Achensee. You are able to sail the hole year, but in the winter its ice cold..( mountains, snow, ....), thats why I have a break during winter.
when I have holidays we often head to the coast.
I also like basketball, snowboarding skiing..

what is it like in Australia?

Hi Tanya, Chile has a wide variety of spots. In the coast line you can sail all year long.
In the interior regions, you've got more wind during summer. In the northern area (in the picture) you have plenty of wind all year long.
Here's a link to show you our coastline conditions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZMhtRcz6Tg
If you are planning of coming someday, let me know and I can give you a tour around our spots.

Good winds

Hi Tanya, Thanks for your comment - always interesting to read what other females are doing - one tends to just hear about the 'young female stars' most of the time and not much about Miss Just Loves to be on the Water sailor! Oz is on my list ''to do'' things and hopefully it won't be too much in the distant future. Such a diverse country! I haven't been down for a few weeks now - we have had alot of thunderstorms and very squally and gusty conditions - looking forward to a nice steady wind to get some time out on the water. My son is teaching me to kitesurf now aswell so hoping I will be up and going soon.Never too lod to try something new!

Hapy sailing - Bunty
